Orebro SK is staying in Superettan after winning the qualifying match against HTFF 4-3 on penalties. It was a dramatic match that was decided in extra time.

What happened?

Orebro SK had to win the return match at Behrn Arena to avoid their first season outside the top two divisions since 1940. Hammarby's promising 17-year-old Adrian Lahdo was in the starting lineup. The midfielder did not play in the first meeting, which HTFF won 1-0. After a quarter of an hour, Lahdo was close to giving HTFF the lead when he drilled a free kick into the post.

Disallowed goal

Instead, the home team struck. In a chaotic situation in front of the goal, Kalle Holmberg scored 1-0, and thus the double meeting was even. Just before the break, Örebro SK thought they had extended their lead when Ahmed Yasin curled in a corner, but referee Victor Wolf blew the goal off for a foul on HTFF goalkeeper Amar Dzevlan.

Penalty drama

In the second half, the game seesawed back and forth. Despite several chances for both teams, the decision was delayed during regular time, and the meeting was forced into extra time. It didn't take long for Adrian Lahdo to step forward. With a quick shot, he gave HTFF a 2-1 lead overall. But Örebro SK responded through John Stenberg. The match was decided by penalties.
