Örebro SK's Crisis Continues - No Wins Since May
BORÅS. Örebro SK's ongoing crisis deepened yet again as they suffered their eleventh consecutive match without a win, losing 2-3 to Norrby IF in the latest Superettan fixture.
The match began with a strong start for Örebro SK but it was the home team that broke the deadlock in the 21st minute through Azeez Temitope Yusuf. Joel Hjalmar added another goal for Norrby IF just seven minutes later, sending TV4 commentator Albin Skur into raptures with his praise of Yusuf's right-footed shot.
Örebro SK managed to reduce the deficit in the 32nd minute through Ahmed Yasin but were unable to find an equalizer. In the halftime interview, Yasin expressed dissatisfaction and highlighted areas for improvement: - For most, we must dare to play football and not be afraid of making mistakes. We must show character and show that we want something. We must do this in the second half.
Norrby IF's Joel Hjalmar was more upbeat after the match, saying: - We start the game well and score our goals. Then we slack off a bit at the end and get a penalty against us. But overall it is good.
Örebro SK continued to press for an equalizer but were unable to get closer than Yasin's goal. Hugo Tilly sealed the win for Norrby IF in the final minutes, bringing their tally to three goals and securing a solid position on the table. For Örebro SK, this loss marks their 11th match without a victory since May.
Mittbacken John Stenberg emphasized that the team must quickly move past this defeat and look ahead: - There is no other option. Giving up is fan's not an alternative. There is still much left (twelve matches) and we know that we can do it. We have shown it before. It is easy to hide and shit on it - but we should not take the easy way out.
Örebro SK will face Brage, currently in 13th place, on Friday in another tough challenge for the team to break their winless streak.
